this is cool. the hubble space telescope has this committee called the Hubble Heritage Project that oversees lots of PR stuff. they manage a library of press-released space-photos (ones that are purdy to almost anyone, and thus press-ready.) for hubble’s 11th year anniversary, the Heritage project released an internet poll, asking the internet community, basically, what they should point hubble at. the result. they choose the Horsehead Nebula. located near constellation Orion’s belt. so cool.

how did i find out about this? from Astronomy Picture of the Day!! i make it my homepage, and everyday, i get a cool image (potential wallpaper) and a ton of links about astronomy. it’s a great blog, w/o actually being a blog. so cool.
