Why did we have to turn back that clock? because.
cuteness
I saw the cutest thing today. There was this Chinese family hanging around College Walk. His two parents overlooking, this little Chinese boy was taking a picture with his digital camera while his two brothers and sister posed with Low Library as the backprop. He counted down with his little fingers… 3 … 2… 1… take! As soon the camera flashed and whirled, his brothers and sister rushed to him, and they all grabbed for the camera to see how the picture turned out. When it popped up on the LCD, they all squealed in delight. It was absolutely adorable.Forget technological advances. Forget works of art, music, and writing. I say a race of people’s worth should be measured by how fricking cute their babies are.
back
Ok, Yeah.. I’m still alive. That was the most disgusting fortnight in my entire academic career. Ugh. Lessons learned? um… 1) Transfer to the College as soon as possible; 2) Stress hurts; … uhh..can’t think of too many more. I’m still in pain. I’m trying to grow up from this hellish time. I’ll get back to you. In other news, let the blogging resume.
Update: It’s Mole Day! I completely forgot! 6.022 x 10^23 particles yields October 23rd. We actually celebrated this in my high school chemistry class. There was a song. Oh, yes, the song. I wonder if I can find it.

porn n chicken
This Sunday Oct. 13th, Comedy Central is premiering its first original movie: Porn N Chicken. The plot is based on the notorious incident at Yale, where a bunch of kids got together and made a club where they watched porn and ate fried chicken. I think they even began to make their own movie, called “The StaXXX”, which, of course, featured wonderful coeds in the Sterling library system. Anyway, Comedy Central decided to turn it into a movie. I think the movie’s basically one of those coming-of-age against-the-man/administration blah blah blah.
So…. why do I care? Because… apparently, this whole thing was filmed at Columbia. If you go to the website, you can catch clips of the trailers and see the buildings. You ask, did anyone mind people filming a movie about a porn club at our illustrious university? There was some whining, yeah. But I think there were limits, like they had to film their skin scenes at the Union Theological Seminary.

all i see is grey and grey
OK, I don’t mind it being cold, but does it have to be dreary, too? I look outside, and all I see is grey.. and white. Ugh.
Calling upon my powerful articulation abilities, the best way to describe today is “bleeehhhhhhhh”.
Update: Oh look, now it’s raining too. Weeee.
Oh yeah, postscript, I was doing research for that last post, and I noticed that the official Kenneth Cole website is actually the 5th or 6th top search result for “Kenneth Cole“. Pretty weird, huh?
::sighs:: I’m a nerd.
poo on you
I really like my new jacket. But I shouldn’t. When you can buy Kenneth Cole jackets for $26, you know something is amiss in the universe. But I’ll take it anyway. Thank you, TJ Maxx. You sate my bargain-hunting urges.
Yeah, so it’s dark brown, almost like dark chocolate color. (No, I did not buy it hoping some girl would want to take a bite out of me. ahem.) Its color strongly influenced my decision to buy the thing. I really like interestingly-colored clothing. I like to squint, tilt my head slightly, and ponder exactly what color it is. It’s all so fascinating.
Anyway I was at work in the lab this morning, and in this light .. it looks like I bought a poo-colored jacket. Like old poo, the kind that comes out after you’ve been holding it in too long. Yeah…
::sighs:: I should bring a book to work next time.
if your mother only knew
Learn how to beatbox. Nice guides and how-to’s to most of the basic beatbox’ing elements. It even has neat little sound clips that you can listen to and realize what you will never ever sound like. Because you are without the rhythm. Blink. Tear.
Anyway, when I have spare time maybe I’ll try out some of the tutorials. I just hope I don’t turn out to be really good at it. Because what if I was famous, a famous Beatboxer, and someone asked me how I got started. What would I have to say? “Yeah, yo, man, you know, I take it back to the old school roots… back in the days when I be surfing the Internet, and I clicked on that link that blew up all this shit right here. Naa meeaaan?”
Yeah… instead I think I’ll just go learn how to install Linux on a laptop.
new favorite site
OK, yeah. It’s taken me a while to blog again. School is hard, ok? Here, to make it up to you, I’ll introduce you to a site that I’ve become completely infatuated with, if it’s possible to become infatuated with a site: Exploding Dog.
Yeah, it’s been around for a couple of years, but it’s new to me, and I love it. It’s user-interactive, like Eric Conveys an Emotion. Users send in titles, and Sam Brown draws pictures for them. And they’re often clever, witty, simple, and just perfect! I get enough of it. I want to rip off his idea.
My favorites include:
I hate tetris,
Cleaning is fun,
I read books,
Maybe I shouldn’t be awake right now,
What are you doing with my mother,
He will fly again,
I can’t do it,
Hey! You got one too,
What’s this rock doing in my shoe,
and of course, The backreference \n, where n is a single digit, matches the substring previously matched by the nth parenthesized subexpression of the regular expression.
ok ok ok. I’ll stop linking them. There’s so many I love. You can search his archives for old titles, too. His art looks really familar. Anyone else know where I’ve seen it? Maybe radiohead? I can’t say.
