This series of emails on my last day summarizes half of my summer experience fairly well.

[crab],

Thank you for interning for my firm this summer.

you asked for feedback.

an entrepreneurial attitude includes going the extra mile. every moment you worked for us over the summer was perceived by me as a 9 to 5 job by you, there was never any spark, what i would have liked was some interesting comments about new markets, competitors, some extra spark.

you could have taken some chances, you didn’t.

Hi all,

Today’s my last day interning at [ASUC], as I must prepare for another year of school. I just wanted to take a moment to thank you all for the opportunity to work with you. It was a rich and rewarding experience, and I learned much about the entrepreneurial process. I hope my contributions were not slight, and that I may have the pleasure of working with you again in the future. Keep in touch.

Warm regards,
[Selfish Crab]

Thank you [crab],

Your contributions were major, timely, important valuable and you are very bright, motivated, talented and committed.

My frank assessment in an earlier e-mail resonates at the core of a really good start up CEO, being demanding.

You will 100 % be working with us in the future and I am very pleased that you contributed.
