white christmas

So, it turns out that,
for all its charm and mythos,
White Christmases are
terribly inconvenient for the adult population.
You children and your candyland dreams
better enjoy it now.

This morning, my father woke me up and told me the downstairs computer has a spyware/trojan on it.  And that’s how I spent my wintry wonderland of a weekend.

Merry Christmas, all.

Yowza, not a good week to be working the PR desk at Alma Mater:

Bye November

November came and went, and I have nothing to show for it. No next Great Asian-American novel was written, and in its place is instead a meager competence at playing Starcraft II, where anonymous Koreans pummel me and teenagers openly mock me. Awesome. Encouraging emails from NaNoWriMo were directed unread to the trash can. Blog neglected. When I actually started watching webcasts of professional Starcraft matches, I knew I was in trouble.

Dear friend,

I remembered that today was your birthday because it’s always on World AIDS Day. Happy birthday!

Xoxo,
